Privacy policy

Ryviu ("us", "we", or "our") operates the Ryviu Reviews app for Shoplazza and the https://reviews.ryviu.app website (the "Service").

This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data. We use your data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Ryviu Reviews (“the App”) provides widgets that display product and store reviews, along with tools to collect and manage them, to merchants who use Shoplazza to power their stores. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shoplazza store. Personal information the App collects

When you install the App, we are able to access the following information from your Shoplazza store:

• Your store name, domain and email address, so we can communicate with you and respond to your requests, suggestions and reports, and send the notifications you turn on.
• Your product information, to link reviews to products and to generate Google rich-snippet data.
• Your theme, so the app blocks that display the widgets can be added in the Shoplazza theme editor.
• Your order data (order number, customer name and email address, ordered products), only when you turn on review request emails, to send review-request emails to your customers.

On your behalf, the App also stores the data your customers submit in reviews (name, email address, rating, review text, photos and country when provided) and, for review request emails, delivery information (sent, delivered, opened, clicked, bounced, spam complaints and unsubscribes). For this customer data, you, the merchant, decide how it is used, and we process it to provide the App to you. Reviewer email addresses are never shown on your store.

How do we use your personal information?

• To provide and maintain our Service, including displaying reviews and sending the review request emails and notifications you configure
• To notify you about changes to our Service
• To provide customer support
• To gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our Service
• To monitor the usage of our Service
• To detect, prevent and address technical issues
• To bill paid plans and usage charges through Shoplazza

We do not sell personal data and we do not use your customers' data for our own marketing or advertising.

Cookies

The App's admin uses a session cookie to keep you signed in after you open it from Shoplazza. Ryviu cookies do not collect personal information. The review widgets on your store do not set Ryviu cookies; they only remember a visitor's helpful votes and which review pop-ups were already shown, in the browser's local storage.

We also use the following third-party services in the App: Cloudflare (hosting, database, photo storage, security and performance; may set a security cookie), Amazon Web Services — Amazon SES (sending review request and notification emails and reporting their delivery), and Gleap (live chat and support — when you contact us through the chat widget, Gleap processes the store name, email address, message content and basic browser/device information so we can answer you). Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy policy.

Information you provide to us

We receive and store any information you enter in the App or provide to us in any other way, such as widget settings, email templates, sender email addresses and replies to reviews. You can choose not to provide certain information, but then you may not be able to use some features. You don't need to create a separate Ryviu account or password: you sign in to the App through your Shoplazza admin.

Security of data

The security of your data is important to us. Data is transferred over HTTPS, requests from Shoplazza are verified with signatures, and Shoplazza access tokens never leave our servers. Remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

If we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we notify Shoplazza within 24 hours, inform affected merchants without undue delay, and take steps to contain and remedy it.

Sharing your personal information

We use your data only as necessary to provide the App to you. We share your Personal Information only with service providers that help us operate the Service (hosting, email delivery and support chat, listed above), and with Shoplazza as needed to provide the App; we do not sell it, share it with other apps, or use it for competitive benchmarking. Review content you publish is shown on your store. We may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or another lawful request for information we receive, or to protect our rights otherwise.

Payments

Paid plans and usage charges are billed through Shoplazza's app billing and appear on your Shoplazza invoice. We do not collect or store your payment card details; payments are handled by Shoplazza under its own privacy policy.

Your rights

You can amend, update or delete your data at any time: settings and reviews can be edited or deleted directly in the App. If you are unable to change your data, please contact us to make the required changes. If you want to be informed of what Personal Data we hold about you and if you want it to be removed from our systems, please contact us.

In some special cases, you have the right:

• To access and receive a copy of the Personal Data we hold about you
• To rectify any Personal Data held about you that is inaccurate
• To request the deletion of Personal Data held about you
• To receive your data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format (CSV or JSON)

Please note that we may ask you to verify your identity before responding to such requests.

Customer data requests

We only email your customers when you turn on review request emails, and only about their orders from your store. Your customers can unsubscribe with the link in every email.

When a customer asks for their data, its correction or its deletion, the merchant (or the customer) can email info@ryviu.com. Within 30 days we provide a structured, machine-readable copy (CSV or JSON) of the personal data we hold about that customer — reviews with the associated name and email address, and review request emails — or correct, delete or anonymise it.

Use of Ryviu by children

Ryviu is not intended for children. If you are under 16, you may use the Service only with the supervision of your parent or guardian.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as the App is installed on your store. When you uninstall the App, we automatically and permanently delete all of your store's data — store information and access token, products, reviews and review photos, settings, review request emails and unsubscribe lists — 7 days after uninstall, and in any case within 30 days, as required by the Shoplazza API Terms. If you reinstall the App before then, your data is kept.

You can also ask us to delete your store's data earlier, or the data of one of your customers, by emailing info@ryviu.com; we delete it within 30 days of the request, except where we must retain records to comply with law. Reviews can be deleted directly in the App at any time.

International data transfers

Ryviu is operated from Vietnam and our infrastructure is provided by Amazon Web Services and Cloudflare, so your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Wherever your data is processed, we apply the safeguards described in this policy.

Changes to this privacy policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. The date at the top shows the latest version.
